As President of the United States and chairman of the Kennedy Center, Donald Trump surprised guests after attending Les Misérables with the First Lady. “Stephen has been bugging me—pulling on my coattails nonstop—about screening his favorite film here,” Trump said. “I haven’t seen it, but according to Stephen, it’s really something. I mean, it’s literally the birth of our nation, and any film that celebrates that deserves to be honored.”
Pressed on the controversy around the 1915 classic, Trump dismissed critics. “That’s just the fake-news media getting scared-woke. That film’s message is the backbone of the MAGA movement.”
We also spoke with Stephen Miller, the president’s close advisor. “For too long, the voices of real Americans have been silenced,” Miller said. “This film isn’t just historic—it’s the bedrock upon which our nation was built. Discriminating against this group’s history and silencing these ideas is ultimately an attack on free speech.”
When asked for his favorite scene, Miller replied, “Oh, I love the horsies.” He started to reminisce. “Poor people really make me ill, so anytime they get what they deserve, it’s always a joy,” he added with a chuckle.
